BHU RESEARCHERS PRESENT THEIR WORK ON POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY AT GLOBAL CONFERENCE IN BRUSSELS

VARANASI : Researchers from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, presented their research on positive psychology at the International Convention of Psychological Science (ICPS), recently held in Brussels, Belgium. They were invited to present their research on matters of public interest at the Convention, attended by world-renowned scientists and researchers in psychological sciences and allied fields like medicine, genetics, biology, linguistics, economics, anthropology, etc. Experts from over 75 countries took part in the convention.

The work is about the implications of positive psychology in the workplace, mindfulness and spirituality in the workplace context, issues in tribal education, psychology of acid victims, and struggles of transgenders in India, and cultural intelligence and well-being.

The team from BHU comprised Prof. Yogesh Kumar Arya, Professor Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Professor Dr Tushar Singh, Senior Research Fellow Ms Aishwarya Jaiswal, Junior Research Fellow Mr Shubham Pandey, Ms Saumya Chandra, and Ms Akanksha Srivastava. BHU was the only central university representing India at the convention.

ICPS, held biennially, connects an international network of scientists and organizations to promote global interdisciplinary research. It is organized by the Association of Psychological Science- one of the world’s largest and highly reputed psychological associations.

For presenting their research at the convention, the researchers were also partially funded with a travel grant by the Institution of Eminence, Banaras Hindu University.
