Bihar government is starting a “talent search program” in every district
Patna : Minister Shri Alok Ranjan, Department of Arts, Culture and Youth, Government of Bihar, while mentioning various programs, steps and efforts towards making sports into a mass movement, including sports policy making, said “The Government of Bihar is determined to create an inclusive and comprehensive sports infrastructure as well as create an environment for sports across the state. We are starting “Talent Search Program” in every district.”
Myriad efforts are being made like strengthening various sports organizations, providing them modern facilities and equipment, free training to sports coaches at Netaji Subhash Institute of Sports, Patiala, guidance from experts for talent identification etc. In addition to this, we are also starting a pay and play scheme to increase the participation of common people and to connect sports with people’s life, so that the common people also join sports and the concept of “Kheloge kudoge banoge Kharraab” can be transformed into “Kheloge kudoge banoge lajawaab” in the society. We are constantly striving to make sports a full time career.
Referring to the training on AstroTurf for the first time by the Bihar women’s hockey team in Simdega, Jharkhand, he further emphasized on the on-ground efforts of the government. Describing this training camp as a revolutionary step, he said that our women’s hockey was waiting for such training and experience for years. This will not only take the performance of women’s hockey to a new level, but we will get a huge benefit from it in the national championship and our team will surely perform well in this time’s national hockey championship.
The Hon’ble minister also mentioned the Bihar Sports Conclave 2022 held last month and termed it as a historic moment in the sports sector of Bihar. Referring to the success of this conclave, he said that through this we got a great experience of creating a world class sports policy. We are in the final stages of realizing the sports policy based on the expert consultations received from this conclave.
The Hon’ble minister, Shri Alok Ranjan, concluded by reiterating his firm determination towards the Chief Minister’s call for development of sports, “make sports a mass movement”, & expressed his optimism for the development of a new culture of sports in Bihar.
