Bihar & Jharkhand Think-tank for Socio-economic Development Announced
Ranchi: Professionals from Bihar and Jharkhand working in NGOs and CSR in other parts of the country and beyond, have come together to announce a think-tank – BIJ Community for the inclusive and sustainable development of the two states of Bihar and Jharkhand. The think-tank will be launched at the maiden edition of Bihar & Jharkhand BIJ CSR Conclave 2020 on September 30, 2020.
BIJ CSR Conclave 2020 is expected to witness over 200 development and business professionals brainstorm on ways to align Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions for overall development of the two states. It will showcase initiatives taken by corporate CSR and NGOs leaders for Bihar& Jharkhand, and act as a platform for their ideas on holistic transformation of these two states.
The BIJ Community will focus on building a robust CSR and NGO ecosystem in the two states and will act as a common platform for businesses and development professionals working in different parts of the world.
Abhishek Ranjan, the Co-convenor of the think-tank said, “BIJ Community will be focused towards offering an insightful and meaningful discourse on sustainable socio-economic development of Bihar and Jharkhand through the collective approach with Government, businesses, civil societies and other key stakeholders.”
Speaking at this occasion, Abhishek Kumar, Co-convenor of BIJ Community said, “The Idea is to create a single window support system for CSR and NGOs to mobilize resources needed for various development activities in the two states.” He further added, “The forum will also act as an advisory group for Government, Civil Society and Business for assessment, better utilization of resources and monitoring, etc”
BIJ CSR Conclave 2020, an initiative by the DNR Foundation and supported by India CSR, is going to be organized for the first time for Bihar and Jhakhand.
Industry players like Bihar Industries Association, and Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries have come forward in the support of the BIJ CSR Conclave 2020. UNICEF, UN Global Compact Network and Rotary International have partnered with BIJ CSR Conclave 2020 as knowledge partners and Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (XISS) Ranchi has partnered as an academic partner with the initiative.
