Billabong High International School Malad Pioneers ‘Future Re-imagined’ Initiative, Harnessing AI to Shape Today’s Learners
- A first-of-its-kind initiative by a K12 school that showcases the creative and innovative visions of students for a tech-driven future envisioned using Artificial Intelligence.
Mumbai : In a visionary move to foster creativity and innovation among its students, Billabong High International School, Malad, recently spearheaded a unique initiative titled “Future Re-imagined.”
This pioneering initiative, led by Dr Radhika Srinivasan, Principal, Billabong High International School, Malad, saw over 100 students from grades 2 to 9 collaborating with digital experts to envision a world shaped by the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI). Under the theme “New Year, New World,” the school set a positive tone for the start of the New Year, empowering students to think boldly about the future. The student words were translated into visions through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This provided students with a hands-on experience of how technology can be a powerful tool for expressing and visualising ideas.
The highlight of this initiative was an art exhibit hosted at the school’s campus on January 20, 2024. The exhibit showcased 20 visually stunning representations of the students’ imaginative futures, leaving both students and parents in awe of the innovative activities conducted at the school.
Dr Natasha Mehta, Head of Academic Research and Development at Lighthouse Learning Group, expressed her enthusiasm on this initiative, stating, “We are overwhelmed by the response and the appreciation from our parent community at Billabong High International School, Malad, and across our schools. This pioneering initiative marks a significant milestone in educational innovation, demonstrating the power of creativity and technology to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders – our young learners. Our students were tasked with contemplating various aspects of the future, ranging from the destiny of India in 2060 to the evolution of transportation, the technological landscape, healthcare advancements, and the conception of smart cities. The diverse array of topics encouraged the students to think beyond the conventional, propelling them to become architects of a future world. The team has set a new standard for experiential learning, creating an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting impact on students, parents, and educators alike.”
