BIMTECH Alumni Conduit Empowers Local 60 Women with Sustainable Sanitary Pads and Provides School Supplies for 100 Children

In a truly inspiring event orchestrated by the Alumni Conduit of Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), a collective force converged on October 28, 2023, to host an extraordinary gathering with a noble mission – to uplift their local community. The reverberations of this event were particularly profound in the heart of Rajiv Gandhi Slum Area, Chitra Vihar, New Delhi, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of women. A total of 60 women were given sustainable sanitary pads, which were not only aimed at addressing health concerns but also promoting environmental sustainability. These eco-friendly pads contained absorbent layers made from banana and bamboo fibers, showcasing a commitment to recycling and sustainability. This initiative improved the health and dignity of women in the community while also contributing to reducing the environmental impact of disposable sanitary products.

In addition to empowering women, the event also focused on the educational needs of underprivileged children. 100 school kids were provided with essential stationary items, including notebooks, pens, pencils, and other school supplies. This effort aimed to make education more accessible and support the educational development of these children, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal 4.

Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director of BIMTECH said, “The event exemplified the spirit of giving back and social responsibility, showcasing the commitment of BIMTECH Alumni Conduit to make a meaningful difference in society.
