Block Diwas: DC Anantnag inspects developmental works in Seer, Salia
Conducts surprise visits to PHC, GHS Seer
ANANTNAG : As part of ongoing block diwas initiative, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today visited Tehsil Mattan and inspected various developmental works there.
Emphasizing on the role of block diwas as an important platform for listening and mitigating public issues and grievances, Dr Singla directed officials to focus on spot redressal of grievances.
He appealed people to make best use of this initiative and voice their genuine grievances for their timely redressal.
While reviewing the execution of work at Eklavya Model Residential School at Salia, he was apprised that the residential school is being constructed at a total cost of Rs 12 crores. He inspected the work on school building, laboratories, hostel block and residential block and was informed that work will be completed in the next few months. He directed the officials to strive for early completion of the work.
Dr Singla also inspected the ongoing work for the Hostel Block at GMS Salia. He was informed that most of the work on the building has been completed. The building is being completed under SAMAGRA and will provide residential accommodation to 50 students.
The DC directed for completion of the building by March, 2022. He said that such assets will facilitate students from distant areas. He also laid stress on completion of developmental works as per projected timelines.
Earlier, Dr Singla made a surprise visit to PHC Salia. He reviewed the attendance of employees and interacted with patients at the facility. He was informed that the OPD facility caters to 50 patients on a daily basis.
Reviewing the immunization being carried out at the centre, he took stock of the availability of various vaccines and facilities for their safe storage and transportation.
The DC laid emphasis on punctuality of employees and ensuring good sanitation in the facility. He also directed the staff to ensure COVID Appropriate Behaviour is followed in letter and spirit.
Reviewing the available machinery, he directed the official staff to ensure that machinery is put to use efficiently and there will be no tolerance to wastage of available infrastructure.
Dr Singla also visited GHS Seer and interacted with staff and students. He was happy to note that the students were enthusiastically following social distancing. The staff informed the DC that special lectures are being imparted to students on the subject.
He also directed officials to expedite completion of the computer centre at the school so that students can benefit from the facility.
The DC was accompanied by ADDC Anantnag, CPO, Tehsildar Mattan, Ex Engineer R&B and officials from education and health departments among others.
