Blood Donation Camp organized by Rotaract Club at Navjivan Junior College, Malad East
Mumbai: As our country prepares to combat the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is predicted that there could be a severe need for blood to help thousands of patients to recover from this deadly disease. It has been observed that there has been a decline in blood donation, and this has to lead to the loss of many lives. To combat this lack of blood, the young and vigilant members of Rotaract Club of Bombay North West Malad, Rotaract Club of Dahisar Coast and Rotaract Club of Ghanshyamdas Saraf College are organizing a Blood Donation Camp – Jeevandan.
“While we are in the chaos of lockdown and vaccination drive, there has been an immense shortage of blood and many individuals who are in severe need of blood, are struggling to find even a single pouch. This inspired the Rotaract District 3141 to organize a blood donation camp all over Mumbai, and we were fortunate that through the support of Navjivan Junior college by providing their premises, we were able to successfully organize this camp. Through this collaborative project, we are anticipating to make a substantial contribution to fulfill our city’s blood needs.” Said Saloni Shah, the president of Rotaract Club of Bombay North West Malad. This one-day event will be open for all individuals who are eligible to donate blood and all this blood will be sent to ‘Borivali Blood Bank’, from where they will be given to all the patients in need.
