BluSmart Onboards First Batch of Women Driver Partners to its Electric Cab Fleet

Gurugram : On May 31st, 2021, the first batch of women drivers took to the wheels of BluSmart’s all electric cabs, in a novel initiative by the company. BluSmart, India’s first all-electric ride hailing platform plans to increase the number of women driver partners to 500 in one year’s time. The women driver partners are currently onboarded to drive from BluSmart hub at the Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Keeping in mind their safety, the company will be offering them with straight 8 hourly lease only during the day – time.

Anmol Jaggi, Co-Founder and CEO, BluSmart Mobility said, “BluSmart is known for its reliable, safe, and ultra-sanitized rides. At BluSmart, diversity and inclusion is in our DNA, and we are delighted to welcome the women driver partners to the BluSmart family. We aim to create an earning opportunity for everybody and anybody who aims to work. We have onboarded the first set of women driver partners to start with and are planning to take this number to 50% of our total driver partner base.”

BluSmart has chosen the Airport hub for women partners as:

They will have dedicated facilities like women restrooms, food courts etc.
The airport is safe and brightly lit, owing to high level security deployment in that area
It’s well connected by all means of last mile transport for the women drivers to reach the hubs and start their day

Speaking on her appointment, Ms. Mamta Rana one of the women driver partners at BluSmart said, “This is really an amazing opportunity for us here at BluSmart to earn our livelihoods and stand tall in our society. Our safety, which has been a major concern for us and our families, has also been addressed by the company by offering us dayshifts from the airport. We are excited to be a part of BluSmart and are confident to serve passengers well.”

BluSmart is an asset light model and does not require a driver partner to own and bring the electric car on the platform. This removes financial and mental stress of the drivers. This will also help a lot of women in the ecosystem, who wish to drive for livelihood but are not in a position to purchase a car. With BluSmart, they will get an equal opportunity to put their driving skills to use and earn a respectable living.
