BMC chief urges companies to initiate ‘work-from-home’ in Mumbai
Mumbai: The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) chief Praveen Pardeshi on Monday urged companies to initiate ‘work-from-home’ wherever possible.
Pardeshi’s response comes in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
The BMC chief said: “We highly advise companies to initiate work-from-home policies If necessary, we will make this mandatory in the days to come”.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has given similar advise to the private sector urging them to implement ‘work-from-home’ policies in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Presently there are nearly 600 people in ‘self-quarantine’ at their homes as they have a history of recent foreign travel.
