BML Munjal University’s virtual masterclass series features Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Peace Laureate

New Delhi: The Series, ‘When Tomorrow Comes’, curates the experience of accomplished leaders in the fields of education, film making, music, sports, human rights, others on how to prepare for and embrace change to be future-ready

Hon’ble Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailsh Satyarthi featured on the 5th Episode of masterclass

Gurugram, May 18, 2020: BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, has launched a virtual masterclass series, titled When Tomorrow Comes. The masterclass brings accomplished leaders from different walks of life to share their real-life experiences, stories, and learnings on how to prepare for, embrace and thrive in change.

The masterclass series complement BMU’s focus on transformative learning. Targeted at all students – the university’s own and otherwise, the series aims to provide motivation and the right mindset to be ready and resilient for whatever changes, revolutionary or evolutionary that the future might throw their way.

The 60 minute live sessions are being held weekly. The first masterclass featured Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor, BML Munjal University, and was hosted by Prof Nigam Nuggehalli, Dean, School of Law. Mr. Munjal discussed the importance of adapting to change, citing examples of the Hero Group’s journey, the importance and humility of appreciating other people’s work, and shared how people need to lead by example, take criticism constructively and always possess the desire to learn, in order to be ready when tomorrow comes. The subsequent ones were with Sonam Kalra, a sufi singer and Soumik Sen, Film Director, Dr Deepa Mallik – Padma Shri, Khel Ratna, Arjuna Awardee, President – Paralympic Committee Of India & Dr Narinder Batra – President Of the Indian Olympic Association, Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO KPMG & Rajiv Luthra from L&L have been very well received by the students all across.

The most recent 5th masterclass featured Hon’ble Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi and an accomplished social worker. The session was hosted by S.K. Munjal, Chancellor of BMU & Chairman – Hero Enterprise. The wide-ranging discussion touched upon the impact of Covid-19 world over and what progress is being made in context to child safety and how he is working relentlessly with the peacemakers and social workers to ensure that no child is abused even during the current pandemic. There was also a mention of the Smart City concept which could act as a yardstick to have a child friendly environment in the plan, this would be a great leap of faith not only for the marginalised community but also for one and all. He also stressed that the leaders and peacemakers are demanding 20% of the grants for global support to counter the problem of child abuse and trafficing should reach out to the lowest/last mile of the society post pademic era to make their lives secure and sustainable.

During the conversation Kailash Satyarthi said, “It was really an interactive session with Sunil Kant Munjal. As a society we should work towards supply chain of gratitude so that each one of us can shift our mindset to inculcate a deeper sense of gratitude towards people/workers who keep us safe under all conditions be it the laborers, farmers, municipality workers and many more who are engaged in this laborious task/s for our wellbeing”.
