Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Screening health camp organized at AKTC Hospital

ALIGARH  : The Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC), Aligarh Muslim University organized a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Screening health camp at AKTC Hospital, with an objective to raise literacy and awareness regarding deficiency of calcium among people due to several reasons prevailing in society, including the unhealthy life choices.

Prof B.D. Khan, Principal, AKTC inaugurated the camp in presence of the Chairperson of the department, Prof. Asia Sultana and Prof. Mohd Anwar.

Prof Sultana emphasised the significance of BMD screening which helps in the early diagnosis and intervention of Osteoporosis and improves the quality of life by helping aging people take preventive measures to check fractures.

Dr. Shamama Usmani, along with the JRs of the department provided necessary advice and counselling to the patients with low BMD. More than 150 patients were screened at the camp.
