Books like ‘Spiritual Dialogue’ can play an important role in making Agricultural policies effective: Dir Agri

 

JAMMU : ‘Spiritual Dialogue: With Mahamandaleshwar Swami Aksharanand Giri ji’ -a discussion on the well-known book written by agricultural policy scientist Dr. Shashank Kulkarni was today organized here in Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu.

The discussion was presided over by Dr. Kamal Kishore Sharma, Director Agriculture Jammu.

Addressing the audience, he said the tradition of holding dialogue is prevalent in India since ancient times. “Because of which this knowledge of Indian culture has been guiding the world for thousands of years. The relationship between spirituality and agriculture is very old. The Parashar Samhita book of Rishi Parashar ji is proof of this” he observed. He further said that this dialogue with Mahamandaleshwar Swami Aksharanand Giri ji, a scholar ascetic, also takes this tradition forward, that is why all of us scholars associated with agriculture should read it.

Dr. Shashank Kulkarni, author of this book and agricultural policy scientist of Central University of Jammu, said that this book has been composed to make Indian culture accessible to the younger generation. “Our country is agricultural, in which more than seventy percent of the population is associated with agriculture. For this reason, there is a deep relation between Indian culture and agriculture. Through this discussion, this book will reach the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir” he hoped.

Senior social worker, Master Subhash Sharma said that the program organized by the Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu is important in itself. Sustainable development of agriculture can be achieved only through the Indian method. The role of such texts is important in this process, he noted.

Program officer, Dr. Rajeev Katoch conducted the program and expressed gratitude. He said that the Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu always organizes such programs so that all the farmer brothers can be benefited.

Joint Director of Agriculture Directorate, Jammu Dr. Radha Krishna Hitaishi, Dr. Arvinder Singh, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Verma, Deputy Director Risha Gupta, Alok Pandotra and heads of all sections were present in the programme.
