Brock University Research Workshop Series Aims for Grant Success

Brock’s Office of Research Services (ORS) is hosting a series of workshops throughout June to help the University’s researchers navigate federal government funding applications.

Faculty planning to apply for grants from the Tri-Agencies — the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) — and Mitacs have a range of topics to choose from.

‪Manager, Sponsored Research and Internal Programs Jasmine Little says workshops will cover areas such as descriptions of funding programs, budgeting, the hiring of highly qualified personal (HQP) and equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in research.

“These workshops will help faculty navigate the complexities of the grant application process, engage with the experts within the Office of Research Services, and connect with academic colleagues from across the University to provide peer-feedback and review,” she says. “These sessions are designed to provide valuable assistance and guidance to help faculty succeed in their research endeavours.”

All workshops will occur in person in RFP 216 located in the Rankin Family Pavilionwith hybrid attendance options available as requested.
