Brock University Searching For Associate Vice-President, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity, accessibility, reconciliation and decolonization, Brock has begun the search for an Associate Vice-President, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
The new role parallels similar roles at many other Canadian universities and will provide senior leadership in support of Brock’s strategic priorities around equity, diversity, inclusion and human rights.
The Search Committee’s mandate is to conduct a broad, fair and effective recruitment process to attract a strong field of candidates and to provide advice on a preferred candidate to the President for final approval.
The new AVP EDI is expected to be announced by early summer.
Community consultation and survey
Consultations with members of the community are an important part of this search. The consultations will provide the Search Committee with input from key constituents and will involve people from across campus, as well as external partners. Over the coming weeks, the Search Committee will reach out to contact various individuals and groups on the first stage of consultations.
The Committee also encourages all members of the community to complete an online consultation survey to share perspectives and assist in onboarding the new AVP.
