Ghaziabad: BI has signed an MoU with GBPUAT, Pantnagar with the aim of increasing awareness about equines amongst Veterinary students, Faculty, State Veterinarians and undertaking research and innovative projects.
Dr Narendra Singh Jadon, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, GBPUAT and Brig JS Dharamadheeran, Country Director & CEO, BI, signed the MoU in presence of heads of departments from the college.

Working equines play a crucial role in transportation of goods, construction material, and shrine pilgrims in Uttarakhand. These working horses/mules/donkeys provide livelihood for thousands of marginalised equine owners across the state. Therefore, special attention needs to be paid on the health and welfare of these equines, presently which is not the case.

Sharing his views, Dr Jadon said that GBPUAT has been offering quality training on equine modules and the MoU has reiterated their commitment to the welfare of equines of the State. Elaborating further he said the partnership will also open up learning opportunity for veterinary students and researchers on health and welfare of working equines in hilly terrain.
Brig JS Dharamdheeran Retd, Country Director & CEO, BI shared that field training on animal health will be done through rural camps where veterinary students and researchers will get first hand experientially learning.
