BSDU students shine at national level Skill Competition, to represent India at WorldSkills Competition 2019 in Russia

 

Jaipur: In yet another achievement by students of the Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), three students won a gold and two bronze medals in the field of Joinery Trade and Cabinet Making categories respectively at the National level Skill Competition held at New Delhi from 2nd to 6th October, 2018.
The competition was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Debendra Pradhan. Several ministers, senior government officers, industrialists, and students visited the event. The students from BSDU who participated and won medals at the competition in Carpentry Skills are:

In the Joinery Trade category, Vikash Kumar Naga won gold medal and INR 1,00,000/- cash award while Kamlesh Bagra was awarded a bronze medal and INR 50,000/-.

In the Cabinet Making group, Mohit Kalal brought home the bronze medal and INR 50,000/-.

These students will be further trained at BSDU and those selected from each trade will participate at WorldSkills 2019 to be held at Kazan, Russia.

To show the students appreciation, BSDU awarded students the same amount of cash that they won with their awards in the competition.

Mr. Narendra Singh Rathore, Principal, School of Carpentry Skills, BSDU participated in IndiaSkills 2018 as chief expert in the joinery trade. Students after IndiaSkills competition will be preparing for WorldSkills, which is the largest skill competition in the world which happens once every two years. The competition is equivalent to Olympic Games for skills amongst the youth across the world. Remarkable is that in the last WorldSkills competition at Abu Dhabi in 2017, India performed extraordinarily well.

We also announce that every student will get equal amount of their respective prize money from BSDU’s side as well. We wish the students to bring glory for the nation as well as the university in the next level of competition, i.e., WorldSkills 2019. We are confident and are looking forward to ace the competition in Russia.”
