Background to Sammantran: India, in the early 90s, witnessed a path towards steady growth and prosperity due to progressive economic reforms and policies. Today, India is again seeing a wave of reforms – Bankruptcy Law Reforms, GST, Make in India, Digital India, and so on. These reforms are expected to have a positive impact not only on ease of doing business but also on financial inclusion. The business environment must handle challenges to make India a destination of choice for global businesses. India Inc., in this regard, has a major role to play and the associated sentiment following the reforms can make or break the economy. Can India Inc. rise to the occasion and shift gears to become an important contributor to India’s growth?
