Buy from local traders, be Aatmanirbhar: Dr. Kiran Bedi to Delhi International School students, Rohini
Delhi: Delhi International School Rohini, hosted Dr. Kiran Bedi, Lt. Governor of Puducherry, for an exclusive virtual interaction with its students. During the interaction, Kiran primarily elaborated on the initiative, ‘Vocal for local’, ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ campaigns started by honorable PM Modi. Dr. Bedi in her address elucidated how ‘Vocal for local ‘ initiative will prove to be a great aid in strengthening our country financially and encouraging self-reliance among Indians. She shared a few simple ways for the students to become self-reliant right from their school days by looking for opportunities to hone their skills apart from academics.
The interaction began with a welcome note from the school Principal Ms Priyanka Barara quoting Dr Kiran Bedi’s speech from her earlier visit to the school; wherein she emphasized the role of educators in preparing students for the uncertainty, life brings with itself. Dr. Kiran Bedi also underlined the importance of vocational courses for school students in present times.
It was an insightful interaction as keen young minds asked Dr. Kiran questions about global relations of the country, trade practices, economy and transitioning nature of the market. Some of the creative enthusiasts also presented a ‘Nukkad Natak’ to culminate the interaction. The skit expounded on the theme of ‘Vocal for local’, Self-reliance, liberty from international monopoly etc. Students were highly elated on the opportunity to converse with India’s first woman IPS officer and got clicked in a ‘Jai Hind’ pose and also embraced into an endearing E-hug pose with her.
