Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba today said that Good Governance is the only way forward to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a developed country by 2047.
Speaking at the one-day workshop, organized by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensions, as a part of Good Governance Week in New Delhi, Mr. Guba said the Prime Minister himself emphasized upon minimum government and maximum governance by rationalizing the administrative structure and decision-making reforms.
He said that the government should not interfere in the lives of the citizens unnecessarily and added that the trust-based government is the key for good governance.
Emphasizing on reducing compliance burdens and decriminalizing minor violations in the laws, the secretary said, 3,552 minor violations have been decriminalized among which 346 are done by the central government and 3206 by the state governments.
He added that this process is also a part of good governance and needs to be carried to its logical conclusion.
Mr. Gauba added that trust-based government should be the guiding principle in drafting new legislations, regulations and big-ticket reforms.
During the workshop, Mr Gauba also launched a special campaign 2.0, 2022 assessment report, in the presence of Secretary,Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), V Srinivas and other senior officials.
The one-day workshop was organised to discuss best good governance practices on how to address public grievances and improve services delivery.
Government is observing good governance week from 19 to 25th December.
During the week, DARPG is organizing the Sushasan Saptah ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ 2022 a Nation-wide campaign.
The campaign seeks to focus on improving service delivery and redressal of public grievances across all the Tehsils/Districts.
