Calls for involving Women SHGs in agri-based micro enterprises
RAMBAN : Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee to discuss the formalization and implementation of the Micro Food Processing Enterprises (FME) Scheme in the district.
The meeting had a detailed discussion on the Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME) for food processing of Agri based products which will be supported by the Government of India under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Harbans Lal Sharma, GM DIC Ravinder Anand, Chief Horticulture Officer, Anil Gokha, Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Area Marketing Officer, Horticulture, Sunil Bakshi, District Officer, NRLM and various concerned officers.
The DC directed the District Officer, NRLM to formulate a group of women to supply meals to offices and other establishments as tiffin service to provide a good job opportunity to the women folk of the district.
During the meeting, the CHO gave a detailed presentation on the PM-FME scheme. He also informed the chair that the Horticulture Department has sponsored 5 cases under the scheme.
The DC exhorted the officers to monitor the sanctioned project closely and extend handholding to the beneficiaries in getting access to credit, procurement and installation of the infrastructure along with branding and marketing of products for successful implementation of the scheme.
The DC also called for launching a robust publicity campaign to encourage the grassroots level stakeholders to take the benefits of the scheme. “We must also focus on proper Branding, Marketing of our products,” the DC asserted
The Deputy Commissioner laid emphasis upon all the officers to work in a coherent manner and remove all the bottlenecks to facilitate early sanctioning of cases under the PM-FPE scheme.
