Caltech: New Online Bookstore for Course Materials Available to Caltech Community

The Caltech Library has partnered with eCampus.com to open an online bookstore for course textbooks and materials. The store launched on September 12.

For students, course materials are linked to their class schedule for easy identification of the correct materials and seamless ordering once they have signed in. The eCampus.com bookstore also offers a price match guarantee, free expedited shipping of course materials to Sherman Fairchild Library, and free standard home shipping on all orders over $59. There is also a 30-day return policy after the start of classes.

Faculty input their course materials into ARES, the library’s course reserve system that is integrated with Canvas. The library then processes these materials for both course reserves in the library and for the online textbook store. This streamlined system allows faculty to input their course information in a single place and gives students the option to access materials for free in the library or to purchase or rent the materials directly.

“eCampus, with its variety of purchase and rental options, free shipping to campus, and on-campus buy-back program, is a great resource for Caltech students who need textbooks and course materials,” says Kara Whatley, University Librarian.
