Career Counselling cell of GCW Udhampur organizes seminar

 

UDHAMPUR : Career Counselling Cell of Government College for Women, Udhampur, in collaboration with District Employment and Counselling Centre, Udhampur today organised a seminar on the topic “Awareness on Employment Scheme for Graduates under the supervision of Prof. Jugal Kishore, Convenor, Career Counselling Cell in the College premises.

Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.

The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Prof. Yash Paul. He welcomed the chief guest and the representatives of the District Employment and Counselling Centre, Udhampur.

While addressing the seminar, the chief guest encouraged and motivated the students for participating in such programmes and honing their entrepreneurial skills and taking full advantage of the Government sponsored schemes under the umbrella of District Employment and Counselling Centre. She also congratulated the Career Counselling Cell of the college for organizing the event and encouraged them to organize such more events in near future also and advised the students to attend such Career oriented Lectures thereby keeping them abreast of the ever-changing job market scenario available to the graduates.

Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director Employment informed the students about various initiatives of DECC, Udhampur. Navdeep Kaur, Career Counselling Officer and Resource person also interacted with the students and discussed various schemes of the department and mentored them the process of applying for the same through an online demo for registration of the students on the employment portal of J&K Department of Employment wherein students participated actively. A WhatsApp group of the students of the college for facilitation of registration was also created. More than 150 students participated in the programme.

At the end, the formal vote of thanks was given by Arun Gupta, Librarian and member career counselling cell. Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor in Physics, Bini Kumar, Assistant Professor in Commerce were among the other members of the committee present on the occasion.
