CBCT Unit Inaugurated

 

Aligarh : Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology/Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College and Hospital (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University organised a workshop cum hands-on course on “How to Read and Analyse Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).”

On the occasion, the newly installed CBCT machine was inaugurated by Mr. Mohammed Imran IPS, Registrar, AMU, along with Prof Veena Maheshwari, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof Haris M Khan Principal, JN Medical College, Prof R.K. Tewari, Principal, ZADC, Prof Pradhuman Verma, Chairman of the Department and other senior faculty members.

In his welcome address, Prof Pradhuman Verma extended thanks to AMU Alumnus Dr Shams Tebrez from Dubai for donating the CBCT machine to the Dental College. He discussed the advantages of CBCT scans (3D imaging modality) in diagnosing maxillofacial pathologies and research. He also welcomed the first batch of post graduate students in the specialty of Oral Medicine & Radiology.

The Guest speaker Dr Smriti Tiwary, Clinical Education Manager (VATECH INDIA) delineated the different aspect of CBCT, comparing it to other radio diagnostic approaches. She also discussed and demonstrated how to read and interpret CBCT with case discussions.

70 participants attended the workshop. The organising secretary Prof Dr Anshul Agarwal, Faculty members Dr Kauser J Khwaja, Dr Nasir Salathi, Dr Masood Hasan Khan, Dr Shahla Khan and junior residents played key role in the success of the programme.

Dr Juhi Gupta, Assistant professor conducted the programme, while Dr Md Asadullah proposed a vote of thanks.
