CCAEE, Dept of Community Medicine organises free Health Camp

Aligarh: The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education (CCAEE) and Extension and the Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) collaborated to organise a ‘Free Health Camp’ at Jarothi, an adopted village of the University to provide health services and to create an environment where the underprivileged community gets sensitized about health issues.

Inaugurating the camp, the Chief Guest, Dr Hameeda Tariq, a renowned paediatrician said that these camps should be held frequently to create awareness and to provide counseling on various ailments and diseases.

Dr Hameeda also attended over 50 patients after the inaugural.

Professor Mohammad Gulrez, Director, CCAEE said that these camps not only provide villagers with free health care and information, but they help in identifying common health problems persisting in an area with the prevention and treatment methods.

He said that a similar health camp will soon be held at Bhimgarhi, another adopted village of AMU.

Prof Anees Ahmad, Chairperson Dept of Community Medicine, assured that the Department of Community Medicine is always available to provide services in these camps.

Meanwhile, the Guest of Honour, Prof Naima Khatoon, Principal, Women?s College informed that the Career Planning Centre of the Women’s College will also organise free health camps in villages.
