CCRUM and IU, Lucknow sign MoU for research collaboration

 

New Delhi : The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, entered into a comprehensive memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Integral University (IU), Lucknow. This strategic partnership aims to foster a robust collaboration in the area of research, education, and training within the domain of Unani Medicine. The official signing ceremony took place here in Lucknow today.

 

The MoU was formally endorsed by Prof. Javed Musarrat, Vice-Chancellor of Integral University, Lucknow, and Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General of CCRUM. This landmark agreement signifies a commitment to mutual growth and the advancement of Unani Medicine through combined efforts.

The CCRUM and IU have agreed to provide mutually beneficial opportunities for the development and validation of Unani formulations. This collaboration is poised to leverage the strengths of both institutions through a spirit of reciprocity, joint endeavours, and regular interactions. By joining hands, CCRUM and IU aim to address the challenges linked with both classical and contemporary formulations of Unani Medicine, including standardization and pharmacological evaluation.

The partnership opens doors for scientists, academicians, and research scholars to engage in knowledge exchange and training programs. This exchange of expertise will serve to enrich the research scholars’ understanding in areas of mutual interest.

The CCRUM and IU are also set to explore collaboration across various fields of research and education through their regional institutes. This cooperative venture will notably facilitate research in areas of common interest, such as novel drug development, preclinical safety and efficacy studies, pharmaceutical analysis, quality control, and microbiological investigations of Unani formulations.

To ensure a seamless flow of information, including research findings and scientific materials like reports, articles, and books, both parties have agreed to share resources while adhering to the principles of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

 

Appreciating Integral University’s efforts, Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General of CCRUM, expressed wholehearted commitment to realizing the objectives outlined in the MoU.

Dignitaries present during the MoU signing ceremony included Prof. Syed Waseem Akhtar, Chancellor, Prof. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Mohd Haris Siddiqui, Registrar and Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid, Dean, Students Welfare from Integral University, along with Dr. Ghazala Javed, Research Officer (Unani) Scientist-IV, Dr. Pawan Kumar Yadav, Research Officer (Pathology) Scientist-IV, and Dr. R. P Meena, Research Officer (Chemistry) Scientist-IV from CCRUM.
