CCRUM and NCISM sign MoU for research collaboration

New Delhi : The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India entered into an MoU with the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi to foster collaboration in the area of Research, Education and Training in Unani Medicine here at CCRUM headquarters today.

The MoU was signed by Vaidya Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari, Chairman, NCISM and Dr. N. Zaheer Ahmed, Director General, CCRUM.

The CCRUM and NCISM agreed to collaborate for promoting their various fellowship/scholarship/ certificate programs among scholars of Unani Medicine and allied sciences and to make use of the mechanism of joint meetings/workshops/seminars/conferences/trainings to identify key areas where research work can be intensified.

Under the MoU, the CCRUM will extend its research facilities to BUMS/PG/PhD students and guide colleges/institutions to develop research centers, promote Intra-Ayush research, and help scholars and colleges in obtaining patents and IPR.

Appreciating the efforts of the CCRUM, Vaidya Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari, Chairman, NCISM assured full cooperation for implementing the objectives of the MoU. The initiative of the CCRUM to launch the Studentship Program for Unani Research (SPUR) for UG students was also appreciated which is also one of the areas of cooperation under the signed MoU.

Mehra, Secretary and Member, Medical Assessment and Rating Board from NCISM and Dr. Ghazala Javed, Research Officer (Unani) Scientist-IV, Dr. Pawan Kumar Yadav, Research Officer (Pathology) Scientist-IV and Dr. Amanullah, Research Officer (Unani) Scientist-IV from CCRUM were present during the MoU signing ceremony.
