Celebrating, ‘Breaking The Bias’ at Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University on International Women’s Day

 

Ahmedabad : Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University celebrated the International Women’s Day at their campus with the theme ‘Breaking the Bias.’ Swarrnim Women’s Cell, focussed to ensure women safety, gender equality and women empowerment had organized a series of activities to celebrate the occasion. The Learning foundation was invited to conduct seminars and workshops on financial literacy, management of stress and ideas to triumph in the competition, with an objective to impart women’s entrepreneurship skills to its students and enable them to design an independent financial portfolio.

Swarrnim University encourages women to explore their ideas and forefront in the space of entrepreneurship and believes that achievers from every walk of life are an inspiration for its students. Unsung women achievers such as; Auto Driver Sathvara Jyotikaben were invited and felicitated during the occasion. Jyotikaben interacted with the students and inspired them to take up challenges in life. Punam Kaushik, Founder of MD Meteoric Biopharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd who joined her family business at a young age of 17 years shared her experiences and entrepreneurial journey and motivated the students. In her speech she said, “Women should never hesitate to take up risks and focus on their ambitions rather than societal pressure as self-confidence will open all doors of opportunities & success. Starting is always small, continuous efforts, and dedication will lead to the destination.”

A session was arranged by Vama Rajpal, a transformational coach & image consultant, who started her career at the age of 40 & proved that age is just a number. Commenting on the women’s week celebration, Ms. Nikitaa Jain, MD – Global & Women Entrepreneurship Cell, Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University said, “The contribution of women to nation-building has ramped up & broken all the bais, myths & stigma by achieving notable positions in non-traditional fields. This women’s day we have tried to send the message on ‘Breaking the Bias’ through various initiatives and will continue to empower our women students with equal opportunities.” Skits were performed by the students to give the message on ‘Breaking the Bias’ and other recreational activities such as; Zumba, Styling were also organized. Women professors from different departments were felicitated for achievements in their respective fields.
