“Celebration of National Constitution Day” held at Hansraj College, Delhi University

New Delhi: National Constitution Day was organised by National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF) and  Centre for Social Development (CSD) at Hansraj College Auditorium. Member of Rajya Sabha Sushil Kumar Modi was the keynote speaker and  Dr. Alka Singh Gurjar- National Secretary of BJP was the guest of honour. V. Satish- National Joint General Secretary of BJP, Dr. Rama Sharma- Principal, Hansraj College and Raj Kumar Bhatia- senior BJP & RSS leader graced the occasion. The event was presided over by Professor A. K. Bhagi-President, National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF), University of Delhi. It was attended by principals of different colleges, senior professors, professors, teachers and scholars.
The welcome speech was given by Raj Kumar Falwaria- Chairman, Centre for Social Development. He wholeheartedly welcomed the esteemed guests  and other dignitaries present in the function.
Professor A. K. Bhagi, took the event forward and focussed on how to implement the different provisions of the constitution in the University of Delhi. He shared that the ‘National Constitution Day’ was initiated in 2015 under the leadership of our Honourable PM Narendra Modi. He requested Mr. Sushil Kumar Modi to look into the matter of regularisation of Ad-hocs and Guest Techers in the University of Delhi.
Dr. Alka Singh Gurjar highlighted the significance of National Constitution Day, celebrated to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India on 26th November 2021.She stated that the vision and principles advocated by Dr. Ambedkar is being taken forward by PM Narendra Modi with schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Sushil Kumar Modi, ensured that he would work on a mechanism for regularisation of
Ad-hoc and guest teachers in University of Delhi. He shared the term KYC- ‘Know your Constitution’ and emphasised that every citizen must read the constitution thoroughly to learn about its different aspects, making our democracy stronger. He explained the historical significance of November 26, as India’s Constitution was adopted in 1949 thereafter came into force on January 26, 1950. He paid his tribute to Dr. B R Ambedkar for playing an important role in drafting the Indian Constitution and upliftment of the depressed class.  He affirmed that reservation is going to continue as long as inequality is faced by the vulnerable section of the society.
The event was brought to its fruition with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. V.S. Negi- EC Member, University of Delhi & General Secretary NDTF.
