Centenary Plantation Drive at Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh: Saplings of various trees were planted in the V M Hall premises after the inaugural of Plantation Drive to mark the centenary year of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Inaugurating the Centenary Plantation Drive 2020, AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) emphasised that this plantation drive will create an enthusiasm among students and public in general.
Attending the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, he pointed out that AMU has a long tradition of preserving the flora and fauna.
“More than two thousand teak trees at the rare side of the VM Hall will be planted during the drive,” said Prof Zamirullah Khan (Provost).
Prof Mujahid Beg (DSW), Prof M Wasim Ali (Proctor), Prof Zaki Anwar Siddiqui (MIC, Land and Garden,), Dr Ali Jafar Abedi (University Health Officer), Prof Adeeb Alam Khan, Prof M Mohsin Khan, Prof M Athar Ansari, Prof Mujib Ahmad Ansari joined the Registrar and VM Hall Provost and Wardens to plant the saplings.
