Central University of Punjab celebrated International Women’s Day 2021

 

Bathinda: Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) organized a Webinar on ‘Challenges for Women Academicians and Entrepreneurs: Strategies to Overcome them’ to commemorate International Women’s Day-2021. CUPB National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) conducted this programme under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari. The Invited Speakers of this webinar were Dr. Chetana Sachidanandan, Principal Scientist, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), New Delhi and Dr. Neeta Doshi, Founder, Rain and Clean Envioro Tech Pvt. Ltd. Along with Webinar NSS Volunteers presented a special choreography performance on ‘Gender Equality and Women Empowerment’ to mark the occasion.

The programme commenced with the welcome address by Prof. Monisha Dhiman, NSS Coordinator and IIC President, welcomed the participants and introduced the programme theme. While delivering inaugural address Prof. Amandeep Kaur, Dean School of Engineering and Technology, shared that the theme of this
year’s Women’s Day is “Choose To Challenge’. It indicates that
“challenged world is an alert world, and from challenge comes change”. So let us Choose to Challenge.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari wished everyone expressed his gratitude towards for women for taking our civilization forward, for keeping our society healthy, and also for grooming the new born so that they become torch bearer of the culture of the nation. He stated that women should be encouraged to take highest education and become an entrepreneur.

While addressing the participants, Dr. Chetana Sachidanandan & Dr. Neeta Doshi shared her life experiences & discussed the challenges they faced to achieve success. Dr. Sachidanandan encouraged young female students to be confident, determined and adopt innovative approach to tackle a challenging situation. Dr. Doshi emphasized on the need to motivate women to become entrepreneur for a self-reliant nation.

Towards the end, Mrs. Richa Garg, Internal Audit Officer, proposed formal vote of thanks. CUPB faculty, staff and students attended this programme.
