Central University of Punjab Hosts Invited Lecture on Quality Assurance in Research by Professor HCS Rathore
Bathinda: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Central University of Punjab organized an enlightening lecture on ‘Quality Assurance in Research’ delivered by acclaimed academician and expert, Professor HCS Rathore, Chairperson of the NRC-NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) and Former Vice-Chancellor of Central University of South Bihar. The event, held under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, attracted over 150 participants including faculty members, researchers, and students eager to enhance their understanding of research excellence.
During the lecture, Professor Rathore expounded on qualitative, empirical, and experimental paradigms of research, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards in research outcomes. He highlighted key parameters such as verifiability, generalizability, probability, validity, and replicability as benchmarks for ensuring quality assurance in research.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Rathore advocated for the adoption of objectivity, truthfulness, honesty, reliability, and precision of measurement in research practices while discouraging unethical behaviours like data manipulation or failure to acknowledge contributions. He encouraged researchers to present their findings in research reports in a clear, honest, and communicative language, emphasizing the significance of including limitations and delimitations.
The lecture provided participants with valuable insights to deepen their knowledge and refine their skills in conducting rigorous and credible research.
In his presidential remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari expressed gratitude towards Prof. Rathore for delivering an enlightening talk. He emphasized the importance of carefully selecting research topics that address local issues and contribute to the knowledge domain of their discipline. Prof. Tiwari urged researchers to overcome research limitations through collaborations and enhance their quality standards by aiming for transnational research.
