Central University of Punjab organised Cycle Rally to mark World Bicycle Day 2023
Bathinda : In celebration of World Bicycle Day 2023, the Central University of Punjab hosted a Cycle Rally on its campus with the gathering of students, faculty, and employees. The programme was organised as part of a series of cycling events held across the country under the call of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to create awareness about the benefits of cycling and physical activities.
On Saturday morning, cycle enthusiasts from the CUPB fraternity gathered at the entrance gate of University Hostels. The rally was inaugurated by CUPB Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari. He highlighted the importance of cycling as a medium for sustainable transportation and for promoting a healthier lifestyle.
Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari himself led the Cycle Yatra along with students. Prof. B.P. Garg, Registrar (I/c) and Controller of Examinations, faculty and staff members also participated in this rally. The cyclists embarked on the scenic route of university campus. Around 50 students and cyclists from the campus participated in the event.
The cycle rally was commenced from the University Hostel main gate. Cyclists took a round of the entire road network of university that is surrounded by lush greenery. The cycle rally finished at the academic block of the university. After the completion of this rally, lassi was served to all participants.
Dr. Vikas Rathee, Dr. Pushpinder Singh, and other officials of the university were also present on this occasion. The rally inspired participants to lead a healthier life.
