Central University of Punjab organised Food Carnival ‘Zaika’
Bathinda, February 26: Central University of Punjab under the patronage of honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof Raghavendra P. Tiwari organised a Food Carnival ‘Zaika’ at its Ghudda Campus. This programme is the part of eight-day celebrations to mark the 12th Foundation Day of the university. Mrs. Karuna Tiwari, the first lady of university, graced the occasion as the chief guest of this programme. During this programme, students of different states of India & International Students studying at CUPB prepared famous cuisines of their respective region and presented Indian & International flavours under one roof.
At the beginning, Chief Guest Mrs. Karuna Tiwari inaugurated the programme. During this food carnival, total 24 teams put their food stalls & served regional, traditional and festival cuisines from across the country. CUPB students served famous cuisines of various states of our country like Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Utter Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu etc. and prepared famous food items of Afghanistan. Chief Guests along with other Judges visited every stall and tasted mouth-watering delicacies freshly prepared by the students, faculty and staff members. Mrs. Tiwari appreciated the participants for preparing delicious food and congratulated the organizing team for conducting this unique programme.
Some of the exclusive Indian food cuisines presented in this carnival was Mirchi Bajji, Litti Choka, Sweet Pongal, Muradabadi Daal, Kadhi Chawal, Daal Wada, Daal Baati Churma, Falafel, Idli Sambhar, Gotsu, Naan, Paav Bhaji, Uttpam, , Pani Puri, Kabuli Pulao, Afghani Kabab, Istambuli Veg Pulao, Veg Chawmin etc. CUPB students also served unique desserts like Ras Malai, Gazar Halwa, Phirni, Custard and Fruit Cakes. This carnival also includes some unique mouth-watering beverages like Chate Di Lassi, Kit Kat Shake, Saffron Milk, Tandoori Chai, Lemmonate, Mozitos, Sharabat, Sattu etc. University Students, faculty and staff members along with their families visited this food fest and enjoyed the delicacies.
