Central University of Punjab organized Interdepartmental Workshop on ‘Basics of Next Generation Sequencing and Protein Modelling”
Bathinda: Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof Raghavendra P. Tiwari organized an Interdepartmental Workshop on ‘‘Basics of Next Generation Sequencing and Protein Modelling”. Faculty, research scholars and students from different departments of university participated in this Workshop.
In his presidential address, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari put emphasis on the importance of skill development program and enlightened the audience that skill development program has given high importance in NEP 2020. He asserted that CUPB is committed to organize such programmes at regular intervals to develop necessary skills among youngsters and to actualize the mission of ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’.
The programme began with the Welcome Address by Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academics, where he stated that these kinds of programmes are important for developing student’s critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Prof. Anjana Munshi, Dean Research, mentioned that analysis and explanation of big databases such as ‘Human Disease Database’ would enable us for the development of better drugs.
This one-day Workshop features two modules where participants were given training on Next Generation Sequencing and Protein Modelling & Docking. The expert speakers of this workshop were Dr. Vivek Thakur (University of Hyderabad), Dr. Devender Kaur (CUPB), Dr. Arti Sharma (CUPB), Dr. Narender (CUPB) and Mr. Dushyant Reddy (CUPB).
Towards the end, Dr. R. K. Chaitanya expressed his gratitude towards invited speakers & thanked the participants for their sincere participation. He complimented the members of organizing committee Dr. Narender, Dr. Sabyasachi Senapati, Dr. Shashank Kumar and Dr. Pramod Kumar Kushawaha for smooth execution of this programme.
