Central University of Tamil Nadu organised National Workshop cum Lecture Series on Yoga
Thiruvarur: The Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Central University of Tamil Nadu organised a successful National Workshop cum Lecture Series on Yoga with the theme “Current Approaches of Yogic Practices on Human Values”. This workshop is funded by the Inter University Centre for Yogic Sciences, Bengaluru, which is set up by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
The insightful lecture series featured renowned experts in the field of yoga. Dr. Manmath Gharote, Director of the Lonavala Yoga Institute in Pune, and Dr. Raghavendra Bhat, Associat Professor from the Swamy Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bengaluru delivered captivating talks, sharing their expertise and highlighting the profound impact of yoga on overall health. Prof. M. Krishnan, esteemed Vice Chancellor of CUTN conveyed best wishes to the guest speakers and organisers of the workshop. Prof. Sulochana Shekhar, the Registrar (i/c) of CUTN, deliver the inaugural address highlighting the significance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world.
With over 100 participants from across the country, the workshop provided a platform for knowledge exchange and interactive sessions. Attendees gained valuable insights into yogic practices, empowering them to integrate this ancient discipline into their daily lives.
Earlier the workshop commenced with a welcome address by Prof. D. Maniazhagu, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports. He emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and encouraged participants to embrace its transformative power. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. S. Jayaraman Associate Professor and Organising Secretary, expressing gratitude to all the invited speakers and vibrant participants for their valuable contributions.
