Central University of Tamil Nadu’s Health Centre and NSS Wing Team Up with Tamil Nadu Government Hospital for Life-Saving Blood Donation Camp

The Health Centre and NSS Wing of the Central University of Tamil Nadu joined hands with the Thiruvarur Medical College,Government of Tamil Nadu to conduct a blood donation camp on Friday at the university’s Health Centre, located within the CUTN campus. Prof M Krishnan Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Tamil Nadu, inaugurated the blood donation camp.

The blood donation camp witnessed students, faculty members, and local-residents from nearby villages volunteered for this noble initiative. The registered volunteers underwent a thorough health screening, including vital checks and haemoglobin level assessments, conducted by a dedicated team comprising medical and paramedical professionals from Thiruvarur Medical College, and the Health Centreof CUTN.

Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Prof. M. Krishnan, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the community’s selfless commitment, “I extend my gratitude to all the volunteers who came forward to donate blood. Suchhumane acts will undoubtedly make a profound difference in the lives of those in need.”

In recognition of outstanding efforts and contributing 156 units of blood last year, the Central University of Tamil Nadu’s Registrar was honoured with a certificate of appreciationby the Blood Bank, Government Medical College and Hospital,Thiruvarur. Furthermore, certificates of appreciation were presented to all the dedicated volunteers who generously contributed their blood.

The event was meticulously organised by the dedicated efforts of Dr. Prem Davis and Dr. Vishnu Priya (Medical Officers), Prof. Gunasekaran(NSS Coordinator, CUTN), Dr. Priya,(Medical Officer-Blood Bank) Government Medical College, and hospital,Thiruvarur. The Central University of Tamil Nadu has consistently upheld its commitment to the community by offering free healthcare services, including medical consultation and medication, not only to the university community but also to the neighbouring villages, all at no cost.
