Central University Punjab employees took Unity & Integrity Pledge

Bathinda: To pay tribute to Sardaar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his 145th Birth Anniversary, the Central University of Punjab organised ‘Unity & Integrity Pledge Ceremony’ for their employees on Saturday. CUPB NSS Cell and Dept. of Physical Education & Sports under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari organised this programme online to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Vigilance Awareness Week.

In his keynote address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari shared that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, also known as the Ironman of India, played a pivotal role in our country’s freedom struggle and in integration of more than 550 provinces into the Union of India. He expressed that we should take Unity & Integrity Pledge every day and perform our work with full honesty and dedication. He asserted CUPB is committed to preserving the unity and sovereignty of our nation by promoting the culture of teamwork, equality, transparency and honesty. He added, the University is also known as Mini India as students from 28 states, faculty from 19 states, and staff members from 12 states work unanimously with full dedication to set new benchmarks towards excellence in education & research.

On this occasion, Prof. V.K. Garg, Dean Student Welfare, administered Unity & Integrity Pledge to officials, faculty and staff members in the presence of university authorities. Shri KPS Mundra, Registrar, complimented event organisers for smooth ezxecution of programme. He mentioned that we need to remember our ancient values of living together, respect each other, working for the betterment of society etc and always listen to our concience which guides to walk on the path of truthfulness and peacefulness.

During this programme, Prof. Monisha Dhiman, NSS Programme Coordinator presented a brief overview of NSS Activities during Vigilance Awareness Week- 2020. After this CUPB Chief Vigilance Officer Prof. Anjana Munshi shared the initiatives adopted by the University for Preventive Vigilance. At the start of this programme, Dr. S. Senapati, and Dr. Sanjeev Mandare, welcomed the participants and shared the programme theme. Towards the end, Dr Preeti Khetarpal, proposed the formal vote of thanks.
