CGC Landran conferred with top honour at Big Impact Awards 2023

 

 

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran was recognised for excellence in research, innovation and placements at the Big Impact Awards 2023. The event was held at Shimla and was presided over by the hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. The award was presented to Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, by the Chief Minister. The 15th edition of Big Impact Awards recognised outstanding contributions by individuals and institutions in different fields including education.

 

Dr. Hrisheekesha dedicated the achievement to the students, faculty and management of the institution. Expressing his happiness he said that CGC Landran has been leading from the front when it comes to nurturing and promoting an interest in research, innovation and entrepreneurship among its students and faculty. “We continuously strive to provide them with the best infrastructure, resource & financial support and mentorship to reinforce a research-conducive thought process and outlook. This further assures that CGC graduates not just bag great placements but also become pioneering innovators and entrepreneurs”, he added.

 

It is worth noting that in addition to offering good placements to students, CGC Landran has been forging ahead in the research & innovation fields as well. CGC was ranked 4th pan India for filing maximum patents in a single year and ranked 3rd, nationally, among the top 5 for filing patents in the field of information technology, in 2022, underlining its commitment to encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. A specialized Research and Development cell, an Incubation centre, the ACIC-RISE Association which is backed by the NITI Aayog and IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) cell to encourage entrepreneurship has also been instituted in the campus. Additionally, CGC being chosen as a nodal center for the 5th consecutive time, by the Ministry of Education and AICTE for Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-2022, was another high point of the year 2022 for the institute which cemented its credentials as an innovation and research-oriented institution.
