CGC Landran organises capacity building programme in collaboration with NCW

 

A capacity building programme – ‘Rise and Lead: Young Women Pioneering Technology, Business and Public Life’ was organised today in campus, by the Chandigarh Business School of Administration (CBSA), CGC Landran, in association with the National Commission for Women (NCW). The event was aimed at enhancing the participants’ awareness of leadership opportunities and decision–making processes, preparing them to embrace technological advancements and excel in technology, public life and corporate sectors. The programme was constructed around three themes, ‘Tech Horizons: Navigating Emerging Opportunities in AI, Drone Technology’, ‘Women in Decision Making: Women Leading in Public Life’ and ‘Women in Corporate Arena.’

 

The inauguration ceremony of the event was graced by the presence of Lt. Ashutosh Pande, Under Secretary, National Commission for Women (NCW), India who was accompanied by Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Prof. (Dr.) Ramandeep Saini, Director-Principal, CBSA, CGC Landran, Deans and Directors of the institution.

In his inaugural address Lt. Pande underscored and explained the role of NCW in addition to the various initiatives being undertaken by government aimed at empowering women across the nation. He encouraged the participants to work on their core competencies and to be consistent in everything they did. Reiterating CGC’s dedication to empowering women in technology, business, and public life, Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran added that it will continue to champion gender equality and support women in achieving their full potential in every aspect of society.

The first technical session on the theme ‘Tech Horizons: Navigating Emerging Opportunities in AI, Drone Technology’, was helmed by Mr. Joseph Jude, CTO Net Solutions. He gave an engaging and insightful presentation on the subject, highlighting how AI tools can be effectively utilized to meet needs and increase human capabilities in different domains. The second session on the theme ‘Women in Decision Making: Women Leading in Public Life’ was conducted by Ms. Balpreet Kaur, journalist, writer and film, Ms. Gurleen Kaur, Director, Ghaint Punjab Media, and Ms. Jas K Shan, TEDx and motivational speaker. They delved into the nuances of corporate decision especially by women in leadership roles making the participants understand how young women can participate in decision-making processes by knowing themselves better, listening to their gut instincts, courage to break stereotypes, being fearless in face of failures, and being adept at learning about new technologies in order to make a tangible difference in the leadership aspect. The third session on the theme ‘Women in Corporate Arena’ was led by Dr. Jaspreet Ahluwalia, Director, Inspirometer, Ms Richa Jayaswal, VP HR, Atulya Healthcare. They shared their views on female leadership, the importance of upskilling oneself and being ready to embrace future tech while navigating competitive work culture. A question and answer session ensued with the invited domain experts answering the participants’ queries ranging from role of AI in aiding leadership capacities to the ways in which women can feel empowered by use of technology advancements. The programme ended with the felicitation of the distinguished guests and speakers and the vote of thanks by HoD, BBA, Dr. Preeti, CBSA, CGC Landran.
