Chairman Block Development Council Nowshera inaugurates nature trail at City Forest
RAJOURI : A Natural Trail along the City Forest Nowshera was today inaugurated by Bodh Raj, Chairman Block Development Council Nowshera, in presence of Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer and Dr Taran Singh, Chairman Youth Hostel Association of India, J&K Chapter.
The trail traverses through lush green forest, which covers more than 2 KM. A group of 45 trekkers from different parts participated in the trekking. They travelled all along the trek and enjoyed the beauty of the city forest Nowshera. The trekking expedition was jointly organized by Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunderbani and Sudesh Kumar Range Officer Nowshera with the staff of both the ranges.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman Block Development Council Nowshera appreciated the efforts of Nowshera Forest Division for preparing such a nature friendly trek, which was thrown open for the general public. He said that nature lovers can enjoy the beauty of forest as well as wild life.
The Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera said that it is open for all the public and informed that the trek is made by using all indigenous technology and without disturbing the natural landscape of the forest.
Dr Taran Singh, Chairman Youth Hostel of India J&K Chapter, while speaking on the occasion, described the trek as a wonderful nature trail. “It is an open laboratory for students and researchers. One can spot a number of medicinal plants, forest plants, wild fruit plants etc” he added. He also said that he will project the City Forest trek of Nowshera and Bhindi Top trek of Sunderbani on the National trekking map so that trekkers can come to enjoy nature.
At the end of the trekking, the Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera distributed certificates among the trekkers and wished them all the success in their life. The whole event was conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests, West Circle Rajouri.
