Chamki Ke best friends return with a second season on the Sesame Workshop India Hindi YouTube channel

New Delhi: To help children and families navigate the social and emotional challenges of the pandemic, Sesame Workshop India returned with the second season of Chamki Ke Best Friends on its Hindi YouTube channel. Closure of schools for almost over 2 years now, online learning, home confinement, lack of play opportunities with friends, have disrupted children’s sense of normalcy. The second season that returns on popular demand aims to provide a healthy co-viewing experience to children and adults via 15 new episodes that would be released week-on-week.

Featuring Chamki, the 5-year-old inquisitive and chirpy girl along with her funny and furry colorful friends – Elmo and Cookie Monster the series aims to meet the early developmental needs of children while proving tools and strategies to help caregivers build resilience and support learning. The second season features episodes that encourage children to build stories, imagine varied situations as some of the ways to manage emotions, develop hope and a positive sense of self despite any limitations; while also providing parents/caregivers with tools and strategies that can help them achieve desirable learning and developmental outcomes for their children.

Talking about the launch of season two of Chamki ki Best Friends, Ms. Sonali Khan, Managing Director at Sesame Workshop India said, “We are thrilled to launch the second season of Chamki Ke Best Friends, through which, we continue to further our commitment to support the developmental needs of children using a large dose of fun. School closures, shrinking incomes, unpredictability have affected children’s educational, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development in more ways than we can imagine while also distressing families. Through our sensitive yet heart-warming stories, we want to make sure that families have a meaningful experience that gives them hope, moments to share laughter and connect with each other.”

Sesame Workshop India Hindi YouTube channel has emerged as one of the most functional and utility serving channels bringing key lessons about resiliency, managing emotions and developing a positive outlook directly into the hands of children and families who need them the most. The first season of Chamki Ke Best Friends series garnered close to 1 million views and witnessed a phenomenal engagement of 12,000 hours; paving the way for the second season to return. Sesame Workshop India continues to invest in creating age-appropriate content that gets hosted on their Hindi and Telugu channels so that children can access it anytime, from anywhere and for no cost.
