Championing Youth Power at THIT: Solvathon 2024 Saw Students Make Breakthrough Prototypes within 36 Hours

Apollo Research and Innovations, IIT Alumni Centre Bengaluru, and THIT Conference Present Solvathon 2024: Pioneering Healthcare Innovation Event

Bangalore : Apollo Research and Innovations, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Alumni Centre Bangalore (IIT ACB) and THIT conference, is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of Solvathon 2024, a groundbreaking event aimed at fostering innovative solutions for critical healthcare challenges.

Solvathon 2024 took place from February 22nd to 24th at the prestigious IIT Alumni Centre Bangalore, bringing together 14 dynamic teams poised to revolutionize healthcare with their ingenuity and expertise. Over the course of 36 intense hours, participants engaged in collaborative problem-solving, networking, and mentorship sessions, striving to hack the future of healthcare.

This multidisciplinary event served as a dynamic platform for diverse teams, spanning backgrounds from medicine and engineering to data science and entrepreneurship, to converge and innovate in addressing real-world healthcare problems. With a focus on real solutions for real problems, Solvathon 2024 featured 6 problem statements and attracted enterprising teams eager to make a tangible impact in which both students from different colleges and startups participated.

The event kicked off with opening remarks by Ms. Ishita Shively, Senior Vice President of Apollo Research and Innovations, and Ms. Susheela Venkataraman, Joint Secretary of IIT Alumni Centre Bengaluru. Throughout the event, participants benefited from mentorship provided by esteemed doctors and domain experts from Apollo Hospitals and IIT Alumni, who offered invaluable guidance and support.

Solvathon 2024 featured enlightening knowledge-sharing sessions, including a presentation on “Driving Innovation with Generative AI” by Mr. Sunil Mishra from MaxVal Inc., and insights shared by Mr. Chella Pandian Pitchai from Biocon on “Telling Your Story Well.” These sessions provided participants with valuable perspectives and tools to fuel their innovative endeavors.

The highlight of Solvathon 2024 was the judging session held on February 24th, where a distinguished panel of five esteemed judges evaluated the teams’ solutions based on criteria including creativity, feasibility, scalability, and potential impact. Team Infomeds emerged as the winner, receiving the first prize of 1,00,000 rupees, followed by Team The Vital Vision and Team Allotrope as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
