Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna and Department of Industries, Government of Bihar Join Hands to Foster Entrepreneurship Ecosystems

 

Patna  – The collaborative efforts of Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) and the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, culminated in a highly successful six-day residential Management Development Program. The initiative, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship and cultivating robust startup ecosystems in colleges across Bihar, took place from August 1st to August 6th, 2023 in the Management Development Centre of CIMP.

Enthusiastically participated in by 31 faculty members, responsible for startup cells in diverse engineering and higher studies colleges across the state, the fully residential Entrepreneurship Development Program proved to be a transformative experience. The program’s focus was to empower educators with essential skills, knowledge, and strategies necessary to create thriving startup ecosystems within their respective institutions.

Throughout the intensive six-day duration, participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions meticulously designed to delve into the complexities of establishing and nurturing startup ecosystems. These sessions provided faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship, including aspects such as idea generation, business planning, mentorship, funding, and scaling up startups. The collaborative nature of the program encouraged the exchange of ideas and best practices among participants, enhancing their grasp of the startup landscape.

Professor (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna expressed his satisfaction with the program’s outcomes. “Our collaboration with the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, signifies our commitment to nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. We are pleased to have equipped educators with the tools to foster this culture among their students.”

Kumod Kumar, the Chief Executive Officer of CIMP – Business Incubation & Innovation Foundation, expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by the Department of Industries. He also extended his gratitude towards the various faculty members for enriching the participants with extensive knowledge and case-based studies. Kumar further acknowledged the efforts of the staff members of CIMP for their contributions in making this residential training program a resounding success.

The participants were also granted the unique opportunity to visit B-HUB Maurya Lok, a co-working and co-learning space developed by the Department of Industries and managed by CIMP. During this visit, they engaged in interactions with several startups to gain insights into their journey and the challenges they have faced so far. This practical exposure added a real-world perspective to the theoretical knowledge acquired during the program.

As the program concluded, participants voiced their appreciation for the enriching experience. A faculty member from an engineering college, shared, “The Entrepreneurship Development Program has equipped us with actionable insights and strategies that can directly impact our institutes. This will undoubtedly nurture budding entrepreneurs among our students.”

On the last day, participants gathered for a group photo session, capturing the camaraderie and shared learning experiences. The event also included the distribution of certificates, recognizing the participants’ dedication and successful completion of the Entrepreneurship Development Program. Additionally, the participants were delighted to receive free T-shirts branded with the CIMP logo embroidered on them, symbolizing their connection to the institute and their commitment to fostering entrepreneurship.
