Charité Spring Reception Hosts Prestigious Award Ceremonies
Every year, the Friends of the Charité honors wards with the patient award that have been rated particularly well by those treated there. The awards are recognition for the extraordinary nursing services that are provided every day at the Charité.
This year, three wards were honored that achieved the greatest improvement in information and quality of care in the patient survey.
The awarded stations are:
- Ward 149 | Interdisciplinary group infectiology, pulmonology and intensive care medicine | Campus Charité Mitte
Nursing Director: Marie-Charlene Bartsch - Station 108i | Clinic for Neonatology | Campus Charité Mitte
Nursing Director: Kathrin Weddemar - Ward 20 | Surgical Clinic | CCM | CVK | Campus Virchow Clinic
Nursing Manager: Yvonne Kalinowski
As part of the spring reception, the Charité Foundation awarded the Max Rubner Prize. Since 2009, the foundation has been supporting Charité employees with this award who have important ideas for changing and innovating their clinic, institute or the entire Charité. This year, the jury selected two projects from many applications that are particularly innovative and exemplary for the development of the Charité. The winners use the total prize money. 120,000 euros as start-up funding to realize their ideas with an entrepreneurial approach.
Communication robots in the emergency room – self-check-in and communication support in the waiting area of the central emergency room
The project aims to improve communication and the check-in process for patients in the emergency room in order to reduce congestion and waiting times. A robot is designed to help by providing multilingual support, guiding the self-check-in process and even measuring vital signs such as temperature and blood pressure. The information is then transmitted digitally to emergency room staff. The robot is intended to reduce language barriers and structure the process. It is also intended to relieve employees so that they can concentrate on the most urgent medical tasks. The use of robots in the Charité emergency room is intended to help modernize and improve patient care.
