Chief Executive of Macao SAR, Mr. Ho Iat Seng, Explores Zhejiang University
On the morning of September 24, REN Shaobo, chairman of the Zhejiang University Council, met with Mr. Ho Iat Seng, the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and his accompanying delegation at Zhejiang University. DU Jiangfeng, president of Zhejiang University, was also present to accompany the visit.
During the meeting, Mr. Ho Iat Seng provided a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in Macao. He highlighted the positive economic and social development momentum that the Macao SAR has experienced, thanks to the unwavering support of the nation. Macao has been actively promoting four pivotal industries, namely traditional Chinese medicine, modern finance, high technology, exhibition and sports. Specifically, strategic initiatives have been undertaken to elevate the traditional Chinese medicine and healthcare sector through hospital infrastructure construction and disciplinary development. Mr. Ho Iat Seng expressed his sincere hope for continued collaboration with Zhejiang University in talent cultivation and scientific innovation.

He introduced the rich history and ongoing progress of Zhejiang University, emphasizing the university’s aspirations to become a center for excellence. Zhejiang University aims to become a strategic base for talent cultivation, an important platform for cultural inheritance and exchange, a national driving force in strategic technology, and a global hub for innovation. The enduring bonds between Zhejiang University the Macao SAR were acknowledged, with a commitment to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation, thus contributing to Macao’s evolving landscape.
As part of their visit, Mr. Ho Iat Seng and his delegation toured the School of Medicine, where they had the opportunity to explore the Silent Mentor Monument, state-of-the-art intelligent anatomy classrooms, the Medical Human Body Museum, and the Public Technology Platform.
