Chief Minister SC/ST/EBC/Yuva/Mahila Entrepreneurship Scheme
IIM Bodh Gaya, in the endeavor to fulfill its social responsibility and to understand the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the grassroots level, is training entrepreneurs under the Bihar Chief Minister SC/ST/EBC/Yuva/Mahila Entrepreneurship Scheme.
As part of this Entrepreneurship Scheme, IIM Bodh Gaya has planned and started training 450 micro-entrepreneurs in 9 batches. Each batch would consist of 50 participants trained by the seasoned faculty of IIM Bodh Gaya in various aspects of entrepreneurship, such as finance, marketing, HR, operations, and law. Under the scheme, the entrepreneurs would be eligible to receive Rs. 10 Lakhs as seed money for developing their enterprises. The funds will be disbursed once the participants complete their training and submit a detailed project report about their business plans to the ministry. IIM Bodh Gaya will help entrepreneurs prepare their business plans. The participants belong to economically backward sections of society, and IIM Bodh Gaya aims to help these micro-entrepreneurs in their endeavors toward self-employment.
IIM Bodh Gaya is a premium institution of national importance that supports the brightest minds through its MBA, IPM, and Ph.D. programmes. The Institute believes that its presence in Bodh Gaya must improve the overall conditions of the ecosystem where it operates. IIM Bodh Gaya strives to be socially responsible, and the training is aligned with the institution’s objective.
Last year too, IIM Bodh Gaya collaborated with the Government of Bihar to extend its expertise to train entrepreneurs under this Entrepreneurship Scheme. With that, IIM Bodh Gaya has extended support to cover over 450 participants under the programme this year as well.
The first cycle started on 29th May 2023 with three batches and 150 participants and will conclude at the end of this month. Three more cycles of the programme, with two batches each, are expected to commence in mid-June.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya, on 29th May 2023. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of this entrepreneurship training for grooming budding entrepreneurs and how they can contribute to the development of the state and overall society. Appreciating the increase in the number of women participants this year, Dr. Sahay urged the participants to fully utilize the time and resources provided during the training period to instill the much-needed business acumen and extend it to achieve their dream of starting their enterprises.
