Childline Doda holds awareness program on Child Protection measures; Also Sensitise participants about Childline toll free helpline number 1098

DODA, : Childline Doda Centre today organised an awareness cum sensitization programme on Child Protection measures here at Brains Development Institute Doda.

The children and the staff were sensitized regarding Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act and the measures to fight social evils like drug abuse, child trafficking, Child marriage, Child Labour. The speakers also made the participants aware about POCSO and Role Of Child Welfare Committee (Meant for the children in need of care and protection), Juvenile justice Board (JJB) Meant For Children in Conflict with Law. The Staff and Children were also briefed about various government schemes including Sponsorship scheme.

The participants were also sensitised about the Childline toll free helpline number 1098. They were asked to give wide publicity to this toll free number so that the victim of child abuse if any, anywhere requires assistance shall be communicated on this number.

A painting/drawing competition and a cultural programme by the children were other highlights of the event. A Counselling session was also conducted for some children. Brand Ambassador of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Campaign, Khushi Nirankari also participated in the programme.

Co-ordinator, Meenakshi Raina; Counsellor Sadaf Zareen; Sajad Ahmed Counsellor (ICPS) and Team Members Sabiha Khan, Faqru Nissa, Chairman of the Institute, K.K Bhardwaj, Managing Director, Kishore Bhardwaj and other staff Members,Jameela Akhter, Anjali Rakwal and Mamta Bhagat were present on the occasion.
