Children’s day programmes held in Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh5: The Aligarh Muslim University City Girls’ School students paid rich tributes to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on his birth anniversary celebrated as Children’s Day all over the country. Professor Asfar Ali Khan, Director, Directorate of school Education, AMU and chief guest, along with his wife Mrs Tanveer Badr, inaugurated a fete, organized by the students, and participated in a number of promotional activities held as part of the children’s day celebrations.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Principal Dr Md Alamgir highlighted Pandit Nehru’s contributions in national building and urged the students to always remember the contributions of the first Prime Minister of independent India.

At ABK Girls’ School, the Green House emerged as winner in Ball-in-Pocket event while Blue House won Rassa Kashi competition held as part of the children’s day programme. A number of cultural activities including Fancy dress show and poetry recitation and sports activities were also organized on the occasion. Dr Saba Hasan, Vice Principal, inaugurated the cultural events while Dr Farhat Parveen conducted the programme.
