Chulalongkorn University Vice President Palani Amarano Visits Tsinghua University

On June 21, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, Palani Amarano, and her delegation visited Tsinghua University. Vice President of Tsinghua University Yang Bin met with the guests at Institute C, and the two sides held talks on further deepening cooperation and exchanges.

Yang Bin welcomed the visit of Palani Amarano and his delegation, reviewed the long-term friendly cooperative relationship between the two universities, and introduced the latest progress of Tsinghua University in global strategy, discipline construction, student training, etc. He said that the two universities have close cooperation in many aspects such as the Asian University Alliance, student exchange and online education. Next year will be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. It is hoped that the two universities will take this opportunity to further strengthen cooperation in joint degree training programs in multidisciplinary fields such as economic management and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), promote exchanges between teachers and students, and cultivate innovative talents with global competence.

Palani Amarano fully affirmed the deep friendship and close cooperation between the two universities, and introduced the academic characteristics and exchanges and cooperation of Chulalongkorn University. She said that she looks forward to working with Tsinghua University to deepen exchanges and mutual learning between students of the two universities, and to strengthen exchanges in the fields of artificial intelligence, medicine, etc., and jointly promote the high-quality development of higher education.

Chulalongkorn University was founded in 1917. The school was named after King Chulalongkorn Rama V. It is the first institution of higher learning established in Thai history.
