CII-Indian Women Network, Karnataka appoints Dr. Githa Heggde as Chairperson

 

Bengaluru, 30th March, 2018: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has appointed Dr. Githa Heggde as the chairperson of the Indian Women Network, Karnataka. In her new role at the organisation, she will work towards a new vision in learning and development, wellbeing and policy initiatives for women.

Dr. Githa participated in the First Meeting of the IWN Southern Regional Council for 2018-19, the Fifth Annual Day of IWN Southern Region and IWN Telangana Leadership Conclave themed ‘Breaking Free’. She was earlier the Vice Chairperson, CII-Indian Women Network and is a board member of CII Karnataka.

Addressing the meet, she said, “Society needs to acknowledge the role that women leaders have been playing in each sector. This success is attributed to their strength in breaking free and working towards their goals with more confidence. There still remains a lot to be done and I hope, with this new responsibility, I will be able to make a difference in the lives of more women.”

Indian Women Network, an initiative by CII, was ideated in 2012 and the organization was launched in 2013. IWN enables career women to become better professionals and achievers in their respective fields through learning, sharing and mentoring. Currently, IWN is actively engaging with the members in 14 states, 1 Union Territory & 5 Zones nationally. Dr. Githa has been the member of CII since 2015.

Currently the director of IFIM Business School, Bangalore, she has played a key role in raising the quality of research and innovation by students and faculty of IFIM which recently received the prestigious AACSB International Accreditation. She is also the member of the editorial board of International Journal on Emerging markets, Emerald, Core member at the Centre for Emerging Markets, IIM, Lucknow, Faculty resource IIM Kozhikode, MDP apart from other holding distinguished positions is various professional bodies. She has over 27 years of teaching, consultancy and industrial experience.
